Ermin Fosse NMA Top 100 - 2018

Our team

For more than 25 years, we have been providing well-respected financial planning advice – first as Kellands Cotswolds and subsequently, as Ermin Fosse Financial Management. Established in 2001 by Nigel Barthorp and James Hollway, Ermin Fosse aims to offer personalised financial advice tailored to the needs of our clients.

Through strong professional links and referrals from satisfied clients, Ermin Fosse has become well-known for our personalised service, quality independent advice and focus on financial planning advice over product sales. With strong values and dynamic leadership, Ermin Fosse continues to attract and nurture the best advisory talent, developing our financial planning services in the Cotswolds and beyond. With many of our clients enjoying homes in both the Cotswolds and London, we have recently expanded our services to the City, where we now support a growing number of clients.

Carly Robbins DipFA

Carly Robbins DipFA

Senior Paraplanner

How would you describe your role and what do you enjoy most about it?

I’m not sure there is enough space here to accurately define my role!  Nigel has been known to describe a Paraplanner as the financial services equivalent to a Paralegal.  In a nutshell, I work closely with both Nigel and Dan pulling together research, writing reports, providing technical detail and liaising with clients regarding day to day non-advice related topics.

The parts of my role I most enjoy are speaking to our clients and helping to answer any questions they may have, as well as getting heavily involved in technical or complex research.

What are you trying to achieve in your role at Ermin Fosse?
Our industry seems to consistently go through change and so I try to keep up to date with the changes that are relevant to our business and clients.  This can prove challenging at times and so I would hope that I manage (for the most part) to keep a smile on my face and an optimistic and positive attitude when the changes have a substantial impact on how we do things!

We really do provide a personalised service and I would like to think that how we engage with our clients reflects this.  I always try to keep our clients at the forefront of what I do and how I conduct myself day to day.

How do you enjoy spending your spare time?
Making memories!  I have a large extended family that I am particularly close to, as well as a wide circle of close friends.  We are a sociable lot and so most weekends are spent with one or several of them, heading off to music concerts, comedy shows, or other exciting activities.  As a group we have cracked the Crystal Maze (we got 12 crystals), spent the day at Kellermans, journeyed to Tattooine, partied on the Death Star, joined the Children of the Revolution at the Moulin Rouge (google ‘Secret Cinema’) and hosted numerous fancy dress parties!
In September 2016 I completed the ‘Walk all over Cancer’ challenge and raised £735 for Cancer Research UK.  In June 2017 I also took part in the Bubble Rush 5k at Castle Combe, raising money for Dorothy House Hospice Care.

Oh, I also crochet!

Lucy King

Lucy King

Client Relationship Manager

How long have you been at Ermin Fosse and why did you decide to join?
I have been at Ermin Fosse for just over a year. I decided to join Ermin Fosse, which at the time was Kellands Cotswolds, as I wanted a complete career change away from hospitality and into an industry that continued to challenge me, but also continue to have regular contact with clients.

How would you describe your role and what do you enjoy most about it?
My role at Ermin Fosse is to work for Nigel Barthorp and Daniel Boden alongside Carly, helping to gain information and process work for their clients.

What are you trying to achieve in your role at Ermin Fosse?
Mainly to help develop the ongoing client service proposition at Ermin Fosse. This allows me to be as efficient as possible when helping our advisers prepare for client review meetings.

How do you enjoy spending your spare time?
Currently a lot of my spare time is spent planning my wedding which is at the end of the summer. When I am not planning this I like to spend my time with family and friends.

Emily Loveridge

Emily Loveridge

Client Relationship Manager

How long have you been at Ermin Fosse and why did you decide to join?

I have been with Ermin Fosse since July 2017 after deciding to leave my previous job for something more challenging, but still enabled me to have direct contact with clients. I was actively looking for a new role when I arranged an interview at Ermin Fosse (Nigel and Carly were equally as scary as they were nice!)

How would you describe your role and what do you enjoy most about it?

My role is to work closely alongside the advisers as Client Relationship Manager ensuring that all business is processed efficiently, preparing Annual Planning Meetings and ultimately being the first point of contact for our clients if they have any queries.

What are you trying to achieve in your role at Ermin Fosse?

The parts of my role that I enjoy the most are communicating with our clients and making sure everything runs smoothly for them.

On a day to day basis, I strive to ensure our clients receive the level of service that they would expect and have been promised. In order to achieve this, I am keen to further develop my knowledge so that each client receives a professional and competent experience.

How do you enjoy spending your spare time?

I am partial to a burger or two, so most weekends are spent hunting down a new restaurant that I can overindulge in. The rest of my spare time is spent looking at exciting new holiday destinations or spending time with my family and friends!

Trainee Office Dog

Following a shaky start to life at Ermin Fosse, Quincy has found his feet.

He hopes to rise through the ranks here and head up a 'client welcoming' department, although he only manages to excercise his skills when he escapes from the top floor office.

Fortunately, our offices are a stones throw away from a big park which keeps him entertained (and tires him out!).
